Your fit is done by mechanics and riders who race, commute and tour, on the same roads you do.

Why get a bike fit at Crossroads

Most discomfort on a bike, sore knees, numb hands, a stiff neck, an aching lower back, comes down to setup, not fitness. A professional bike fit adjusts the bike to your body and the way you actually ride, so you can go further in comfort and put your effort into moving forward rather than fighting your position.

A fit is worth doing whether you're picking up your first road bike, coming back from injury, chasing more speed for an event, or simply tired of finishing rides sore. It's also the smartest first step before buying a new bike, your fit numbers tell us exactly which frames and sizes will suit you, so you never buy the wrong bike.

Buying a road bike or mountain bike from Crossroads? Ask us about fitting as part of your purchase, every bike we sell is sized and set up to you before it leaves the shop.

What happens in a bike fit

1

Chat & assessment

We talk through your riding, goals and any niggles, then check flexibility and range of motion.

2

On-bike measurement

Saddle height, setback, reach, bar and cleat position are measured while you ride.

3

Adjust & test

We make changes one at a time and you feel each one, so the final setup is confirmed by you, not just the numbers.

4

Your fit report

You leave with your fit numbers recorded, useful for future bikes, travel and insurance.

A Bike Size Up session is $150, or complimentary when you purchase your bike through Crossroads. A full road or mountain bike fit is $150, and a TT or triathlon fit is $175.
Allow 30 minutes for a Bike Size Up session, and around an hour for a full road, mountain or TT/triathlon fit. Wear your normal riding kit and shoes, and bring your bike if you already have one.
It's the best time to do one. Your fit numbers tell us which frame sizes and models genuinely suit your body, so you buy the right bike the first time. Every bike sold at Crossroads is sized and set up to you before collection.
Often, yes. Most on-bike discomfort traces back to setup. During your fit we look at the positions most commonly linked to pain, saddle height, cleat alignment and reach, and adjust them to your body. For an existing injury, we recommend seeing a physio alongside your fit.
Your bike (if you have one), riding shoes, and the kit you normally ride in. If you use orthotics or have physio notes about an injury, bring those too.
